I'm sitting in at the gate at @
LAX it's a qantas a330 were about to hop on and i feel like a zombie. After I posted my blog it really hit the fan so to speak. Not only had I started the washing machine too late but I hadn't even pressed start. Long story short cause my hands are really shaky I'm so tired, I finally was let in to get my clothes from the 'dryer' and they were dripping wet... I had to pack as it was allready 11;30pm and we had an early start to get to LAX. Basically everything I owned was soaking wet and I had nothing to wear at all. Turns out that washing really IS that bad!
I spent another hour trying to shake them dry to no avail, I threw them In a plastic bag, went to the reception to use the free wifi and do some banking.
The guy who had let me in before saw me sitting near the laundry room and jokingly said 'u don't need to get in again do you?' I said yeah well actually my clothes are all soaked and i'm leaving tomorrow... He said if u do need to use it again that's fine so I raced upstairs and grabbed my load and threw it in the dryer on the hottest setting. 45 min later they sure were dry but take it from me my mustard jeans were even harder than usual to put on this morning! It was now close to 1:30 and the washing I had staresd at 9:05 was finally finished but I hadn't packed and all the Asians in my room were now sound asleep still with the lights on! It's like they are afraid of the dark I sware!
The rest of the night was spent feeling sick from the prepackaged turkey and mash potato meal I had microwaved myself for dinner. So basically by the time the Asians were awake at 3am for their flight out I had not had a min of sleep. I waited for them to leave then got up well before I needed to cause I couldn't sleep.
The short of it is that Im the most tired I've ever been with a 6 hour flight ahead of me then one night in NYC, an ealy morning again then 12 hours on a bus to Toronto and the white powdery stuff I'm so looking forward to. Let's hope it's worth it!
The forcast for Toronto is snow for the next 5 days so we'll see how much turns up!
Boarding now,
Over and out mike.
Oh dear.....travel is so broadening isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThere will be snow in Toronto (or as the locals say, Tronna), but it may wel be wet and a bit horrible. If you can get a bit further north, do it!
Still enjoying your travels and travails.
Lots a love

Ah Mick! I know the feeling!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Japan, I washed and dried my clothes without putting in detergent.
I realised this then figured the hot water would be enough.
Um...yeah...it wasn't.
