Be carefull what you wish for...

So I don't know if you've been hearing about the blizzard which hit the east coast the last day or so, if your wondering weather it has disrupted our travel plans, yes, yes it has. We spent almost 5 hours in the Toronto greyhound terminal this morning, including an hour and a half outside I'm minus 11 degree cold (coldest morning yet).

The majority of this time was spent having no idea of we would be able to leave Toronto today at all. One minuite people said we should leave and call them in a day or two, the next there were aparently busses going, we just never knew. That was until we were told to wait in a line which almost spanned to the us border and not to worry we would get on a bus. I'm not sure if you have spent an hour and a half in minus 11 degrees before but I wouldn't be getting In line to go again that's for sure.

We finally got on a bus and thought our problems were over, we will get to NYC just 5 hours late but this was just the beginning. After 5 hours on the bus we get a message from david with the real bad news. His flight into Nyc has been canceled and he was offered the next available flight on Jan 3rd. The day we leave for Washington dc, not to mention after new years which we just spent 600+ dollars on between us...

So as I finish up this blog I'm about 5 hours out from NYC David us stuck in milwakee (not where his friends are) alone with almost all busses, trains booked and no license to hire a car as he lost his wallet in San Francisco. Were trying to find a way to get him here asap so wish him luck, were ok we've got eachother and booked accomodation poor davie is on his own.

Hope you guys are well, were aRe ok this just makes things a bit exciting I guess!

Oh and incase your wondering I learned my lesson wishing for snow... And I havnt missed the irony of it all, no snow on Christmas then far too much to possibly ruin new years ha ha ha.

Bye for now!

Let's hope you see David popping up in sone photos in NYC soon!!

  1. Hi Mike,
we have been watching the weather reports with growing disquiet and feared you might be held up. I hope you have managed to get into NYC OK, from what we saw, that in itself would be quite a challenge. I am sorry about David and sorry that your plans for NY will probably be severely curtailed, but at least it may have blown over by the time you have to fly. Here's hoping you won't be stuck in a terminal somewhere. Keep us informed when you can.

  3. Hi Michael,

Merry Christmas for the other day :-)! I just read Davids Facebook status update from earlier this morning... I can't believe his plane has been delayed for so long! I actually read a news article this morning which said that the weather in NE America and Canada has been crazy, and almost everything transport related is delayed.

I hope you're all able to sort something out! Let us know what happens!
